Areas of application

Food and drink industry

System flooring and protective solutions for food-processing plants, beverage production, bakeries, cold stores, packing facilities, wet areas and environments with stringent hygiene requirements.

Hygiene Wet areas Slip resistance Rapid refurbishment

SYSTEM-BASED APPROACH

In food production, surfaces are more than a finishing layer

In food-processing facilities, the system must support hygiene, workplace safety, cleaning and resistance to moisture, fats, cleaning agents, traffic and temperature changes.

We therefore select a system based on more than appearance. We consider the purpose of the space, the washing regime, concrete substrate condition, falls, drainage, loads, installation time and the need to keep production downtime to a minimum.

KEY CHALLENGES

Three requirements a good system must meet

01

Hygiene and food safety

Seamless surfaces, fewer weak points, easier cleaning and resistance to moisture, cleaning agents, fats and local spillages.

02

Minimum production downtime

We plan solutions so that installation can be phased, practical and as unobtrusive as possible to the production process.

03

Lower maintenance costs

More durable systems reduce damage caused by traffic, water, chemicals, temperature changes and mechanical loads.

SOLUTIONS BY FACILITY AREA

A food-processing facility requires system solutions for each individual area

Flooring systems, wall coatings, drainage, joints, cold stores, logistics and rapid repairs are planned according to loads, hygiene, moisture, cleaning and the time available to production.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

What we assess before selecting a system

A good system is the result of a correct assessment of the space, substrate and intended use.

Hygiene and cleaning Washing frequency, types of cleaning agents, disinfectants, the possibility of standing water and maintenance requirements.
Slip resistance Assessment of slipping risks in wet areas, transport routes and service areas.
Chemical resistance Fats, salts, acids, cleaning agents, oils, spillages and substances specific to the production process.
Mechanical loads Traffic, forklifts, pallets, production equipment, impacts and local loads.
Moisture and drainage Substrate condition, falls, drains, wet areas, capillary moisture and conditions for system adhesion.
Installation time The option of phased installation, the available production shutdown period and the need for rapid repairs.

OUR APPROACH

How we select the right system for your facility

Production assessment

We review the purpose of the space, use zones, cleaning regime, moisture, temperature, traffic and any special requirements.

Substrate inspection

We assess the condition of the concrete, cracks, flatness, adhesion, moisture and the preparation required before installing the system.

Definition of areas and loads

We distinguish between wet areas, production, warehouses, cold stores, logistics, drains, joints and technical details.

System proposal

We prepare a recommendation covering the layer build-up, slip resistance, finishes, substrate repairs and installation time.

Installation or technical supervision

Where required, we provide installation, material supply or technical project supervision, as well as technical advice on key details.

Maintenance recommendations

After completion, we can provide guidelines for cleaning, maintenance and long-term use of the system.
